Well, Willow class have thoroughly enjoyed learning more about Tropical Rainforests and the wildlife living within! Our knowledge has grown beyond all expectations and we are almost experts on location, climate, tropical plant-life, layers, and predators - not to mention some of natures amazing adaptations! We faced the extinctions and dangers through deforestation and have also used our art skills to paint using water-colours. These paintings were of the rainforest layers and used as diagrams in our research books. ICT has also played a huge part in our research and presentation. Well done everyone!

Last Art Club Session With My Year 1 and 2 Artists - Time For Our Beautiful Dragonflies To Fly Home!24/3/2016 Today we were all lucky enough to go roaming through an Amazon Rainforest simulation! Inspecting the plant life up-close along with the various birds of paradise, Poison Dart Frogs, a Bird-eating Spider, Red-billed Toucans, Goelid and Pygmy Monkies, Yellow Footed tortoise, freshwater Stingray, Scorpions, Hissing Cockroaches, Agouti and Hingeback Tortoises (to name but a few) was just brilliant! The humid heat also gave us more of a first-hand experience of life in the tropical rainforest of Brazil! We all wowed the guides with our impressive geography knowledge and existing animal/plant life understanding as well as extending what we know about animal adaptations - a cracking day all round! Well done everyone! Thank you to parents and family members who helped the children to create their costumes - they all looked absolutely amazing! I was also very proud of our very own Willower who won 'Best-Dressed' Key Stage 2' prize with her interpretation of 'Aliens Love Underpants'! Brilliant! |
